Near the Cockatrice

The Cockatrice is situated in a beautiful, wild, riverside location with abundant and varied birdlife and wildlife including an occasional siting of an otter or seal.

It is ideal for walking, boating and cycling. We are 25mins from the medieval city of Norwich, a thriving centre for shopping, cinemas and restaurants. We are also 30mins from the east coast sandy beaches, great for swimming and walking.

Great for Birdwatchers !

We are centrally located for access to the RSPB Reserves at Strumpshaw Fen,Buckenham Marshes,Ted Ellis Reserve, Berney Marshes,Surlingham Marsh and Minsmere. Eating out: Reedham ferry "eelcatchers" pub, serving micro brewery beers and excellent local food. The charming town of Loddon is  seven minutes away offering a variety of restaurants and pubs. We are always happy to recommend a pub or restaurant for you.

There is a small road with light traffic alongside the house.
No street lighting and minimal light pollution, so clear starry skies!
We have a small friendly terrier who lives in our part of the house.

Private breakfast/sitting room with TV for guests. Guests may use river staithe to relax and watch the boats go by, enjoy the sunset or even launch a canoe! Guests may use the Mediterranean-style terrace which catches the sun from morning till late afternoon.
